I will miss you on Thursday and Friday! Please be on your best behavior for your sub.
Thursday: you will take your ch 5 quiz, then in small groups complete the following to gain an understanding of how the American Revolution impacted different social groups:
HAPP DocBlock analysis of Joseph Plumb Martin and Abigail Adams readings under period 3.
Then, for the four readings (Women, Native Americans, African Americans, and Loyalists) create a chart that shows how each group participated in the revolution and how they were affected by the revolution.
Finally, write an introductory paragraph with a thesis statement at the end and ONE paragraph of what could be developed into a full LEQ responding to the following: Evaluate the extent to which the American Revolution truly represented a revolution in social relations for varied populations.
You may work in small groups but must have your own answers to these assignments.
Friday, you will spend some quality time with Dr. Joanne Freeman. Working in pairs or individually, peruse the sessions of her Yale course and choose one lecture to listen to (found here https://oyc.yale.edu/history/hist-116 ). You must post which lecture you are choosing and each group must choose a different one. Then, listen to that lecture. You may want to utilize the transcript online or the youtube function to speed up the lecture to 1.25x/1.5x. As you listen, create a brief summary of the main points, gather at least one quote from a primary document, choose the most important takeaways our class should know, and finally prepare those to share with our class on Monday. I hope you will find this interesting and eye-opening!
Again, I will miss you. Please be on your best behavior. See you Monday :)
