Today we covered a variety of historical events and issues, all centered around the ongoing American debate over the freedom of expression in a free society. We looked at some court cases from WWI related to the Sedition act and possible implications for modern America and the future. We then examined some of the major developments and themes of the tumultuous 1920's, culminating with an examination of the issues surrounding the Scopes trial.
Don't forget the next scored discussion is this Friday! The reading selection is posted under Period 7 documents. Also, we made the decision today to move the exam from Monday to Tuesday of next week to give us one more day on the Great Depression and New Deal. You're welcome ;) H
