Over the past two days we discussed English colonization in the Chesapeake Bay and Massachusetts Bay.
On Tuesday, we compared passenger lists for of boats departing from London for Virginia and Massachusetts. We briefly went over big concepts with Jamestown and New England, then examined early colonial government activity by analyzing the
Laws Enacted by the First General Assembly of Virginia (1619) and The Fundamental Orders of Connecticut (1639).
Wednesday, students researched one of the thirteen original colonies, then compared notes by region to find what commonalities defined the Southern, Middle and Northern colonies. Students shared their analyses and filled out a chart which should be helpful studying, and which I have uploaded to "period materials."
As always, I am pleased with the effort being shown. MAKE SURE you are keeping up with reading and analyzing your text, Ch 1-3 Quiz on Tuesday.
