Mr. Hutchison is in his sixth year at Green Hope after previously teaching in DFW & College Station, Texas; Beckley, West Virginia; and Boston, Massachusetts. Originally from West Virginia, Mr. Hutchison holds a Bachelor's of Science in Education from Concord University and a Master's of Science in Counseling Psychology from Marshall University. During his 20 plus years in education, Mr. Hutchison has taught Theatre, Technical Theatre, Speech & Debate, World History, American History, Psychology and Geography. This diversity of teaching experience informs his teaching style and has helped him diversify the classroom experience for his students.
In his spare time, Mr. Hutchison is an avid reader of history, short stories and classics of the American Literature catalogue. He also enjoys woodworking, hiking, and spending quality time with his family (and pets!). Until he transferred schools during his undergraduate studies, Mr. Hutchison was an operatic voice minor and in the past has enjoyed appearing in amateur and professional stage and musical productions across the country. As often as possible, Mr. Hutchison loves to escape back to the West Virginia hills in the New River Valley where he was raised.
Mr. Hutchison is excited about the opportunity to teach APUSH at Green Hope again this year and is looking forward to a thrilling and enlightening 2018-2019 school year!
