Meet Mr. Richardson

Mr. Richardson is excited to be teaching at Green Hope High, his alma mater. 2017-18 is Mr. Richardson's fourth year teaching at Green Hope High, having taught previously in Houston, Texas.
Mr. Richardson attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he received his Bachelors of Arts in Management and Society and his Masters of Arts in Teaching. He has taught at private and public schools, at academic, honors, and AP levels, with classes including Sociology, American History 1 & 2, World History, Geography, Music, and AP US History. He has served Green Hope as advisor to the Feminism, Speech & Debate, Youth & Government, and Meditation Clubs, as PLT leader for American History I, and as Teacher Representative to the PTSA.
He especially enjoys collaborating with his peers, creating interdisciplinary lessons to expose students to different viewpoints and analytical frameworks. He has worked with PE, CTE, English, and Music teachers, as well as brought in a Duke Sociology Professor, UNC MD, a CMU Professor of Music, and others as guest speakers. His favorite ongoing collaboration has been with Mr. Gorski of the theatre department; their lesson on the hit Broadway musical Hamilton , which Mr. Richardson presented at the North Carolina Council for the Social Studies Conference, was featured on the UVA history broadcast "Backstory."
In his free time, Mr. Richardson enjoys reading, photography, fitness activities, playing with his dog Sasha, and traveling with his wife Jessica.
