H Today was the LAST DAY of NEW CONTENT in APUSH!!! YAY!!! We wrapped up our study of US history today with some discussion over how America's past is linked to America's present, specifically focusing on how decisions made in the effort to win the Cold War helped create the factors favorable for the emergence of terror threats and international enemies.
Tomorrow will be your last regular exam of the course then next week will be all APUSH exam review, all the time as we prep for Friday, May 5! H Today we plunged headlong into Period 9 with discussions over the Iran-Contra Affair, the First Gulf War, and Clinton's impeachment. If you didn't finish the questions over the impeachment activity in class, finish it up tonight along with Chapter 32 which is due tomorrow.
One last day of new content!!! H After finishing up our discussion over Nixon and the effects of Watergate on American politics, we looked at varying historical interpretations of the 1970's. After that, we did a DocBlock over a set of documents from the late 70's and early 80's comparing Carter's "malaise" speech to Reagan's "Morning in America" speech along with some other documents related to the politics and economics of that time. Chapter 31 is due tomorrow and Chapter 32 on Thursday. H
We discussed conservatism in the Sixties today and looked at some of the up's and down's of the Nixon Administration. If you did not finish the Watergate primary source charts in class today, make sure you finish it tonight because we will build off of that at the first of class tomorrow!

One more week of new content! Hang in there! H Today we took our LAST CHAPTER QUIZ! We then talked about some of the historical context surrounding the Great Society programs of the late 1960's then examined a set of documents through four different historical lenses to gather the details necessary to craft a practice thesis statement on a larger, more encompassing historical question on the success of the Great Society.
Tomorrow if your FINAL DBQ of the year! Make sure you check out the revised Writing Tips page, the DBQ practice activities, and the student samples provided there. Next Wednesday, Chapter 31 is due and Chapter 32 is due on Thursday. Your last regular exam of the year will be NEXT FRIDAY!
