Though there were examples of overlapping strategies, such as the use of plantation colonization by both English and Spanish in North America, the notable European powers in America each favored different types of colonization, including the English’s settler colonialism, Spanish planter colonization, and French exploitation colonialism.

Rewrite: Though in some cases European powers were similar in their styles of colonialism, such as the mother country's use of their colonies to grow wealthy, major European nations like England, Spain, and the Netherlands developed many colonies and varied widely in their relations with the Indians, economic pursuits in the Americas, and their favoring of the three different types of colonialism.

Although countries sometimes had overlap in the types of colonialism they practiced, the overall favored types of colonialism by different nations are very apparent, examples would be exploitative colonialism by the Spanish, settler colonialism by the English, and planter colonialism by the Dutch.

Simplify the phrasing for readability. Your main points are really only one factor of comparison so really only one main point. You need at least two specific points of comparison as your main points and another as your counterpoint.

Although European powers had overlap in the reasons for practicing colonialism, this is less historically significant because they differed widely in their methods for achieving their ends, this is seen through the types of colonialism practiced, relations with natives, and labor systems used.

Europeans all found ways to move natives out and move colonies in and all had established new ideas about religion and government, and were beginning to think separately from Britain.

You don't have a counterpoint so this is a list, not a historical argument. Also, the last main point doesn't have anything to do with the ways different European countries conducted their colonization.

You also need to beef up your expression of significance from just "they share some similarities" to a phrasing that shows you consider the similarities more significant than the differences.

Some evidence may suggest that the economics of colonization developed the key differences between nations colonies, however the most striking difference between European colonies was how different religion’s shaped the practices of the colony, while economics was a factor of oppressive practices and industry in the area, religion was the driving force that governed and separated colonies, as seen through treatment of the natives, why they migrated to the Americas and how the social structure of the colony was shaped.
