Today we wrapped up the Reagan and Bush Sr. administrations and looked at some of the major issues of the Clinton Administration.  We will finish up the Clinton Administration tomorrow and discuss the effects of September 11 through today's political debates.  Tonight you need to finish up anything you did not complete on the Reagan political cartoons then read the two brief documents under the Debaters over the First Gulf War found in Period 9.  After reading the two documents answer the following questions:
  1. What were the primary arguments President Bush gave in support of military intervention in Kuwait?
  2. What were the major reasons Schlesinger opposed the war (Yes, this is the historian Schlesinger whom we read earlier in the year!  And yes, it the the Tony Horowitz who wrote Voyage Long and Strange that he mentions in his article!)
  3. Which, if any, of Schlesinger's warnings about possible outcomes of the war came true?  What effect do you believe this has on his overall argument?
Don't forget, your exam is Thursday!  You can find the binder requirements on yesterday's blog.
