We continued our discussion over American imperialism today with an examination of the Philippine Insurrection and some stations which helped us get a better sense of America's role in global imperialism in the late 1800's and early 1900's.  We ended with a DocBlock over Alfred Thayer Mahan's Sea Power and World History.  As you read and analyze the excerpts in that DocBlock, place them in the context of the debate over Imperialism you saw in yesterday's documents activity and political cartoons.

Tomorrow we will be moving into World War I content, so don't forget that Chapter 23 notes are due!!!  Also, you may want to begin preparing for the next scored discussion which will be next Thursday.  The reading selection is again by Howard Zinn and can be found under the Activities at the top of Period 7.
