We took the first Exam today!  Those grades will be in before Monday, which is also the quarter interim!  

As I graded DocBlocks, I was actually very disappointed.  After being very clear during our first two in class regarding the depth of analysis i expected and what that would look like on the page and even after intervening midway through the quarter to say I was seeing DocBlocks that were far too minimal, I still received MANY, MANY, MANY assignments today that were far below the expectations for AP work.  I have no doubt many of you were not happy with your grades, but to be honest, I was lenient this time.  That sort of work in the future will result in far more appropriately stringent grading.  We will discuss this on Friday in class as well and if you have questions, please feel free to come see me on tutorials and we can look at them together.

Homework over this day off tomorrow is to finish up your Chapter 10 notes (due Friday) and to finish writing up your essay ROUGH DRAFT.  I will collect these Friday and next week I will schedule a meeting with each of you that needs feedback.  Remember that these are practice essays.  Your four graded essays will take place timed and in class, so we will be adding some activities over the next two weeks to help prepare you for that.
