Today we started our conversation about Manifest Destiny and the early incursions into the Great Plains and the Far West prior to the Civil War.  We started with an image analysis of the painting "American Progress" by John Gast, followed by a DocBlock HAPP over "Manifest Destiny" by John L. O'Sullivan.

We ended today by analyzing and comparing the points of view of four different historians on the topic of the Mexican-American War.  You should use the four differing perspectives as well as the historiographical essay we distributed to help as you prepare for Thursday's scored discussion.
