September 26, 2019

9/26/2019

Today's focus was the Jeffersonian years.  We started with a brief discussion about the election of 1800 and then dove into the international relations issues which prompted the Embargo act.  We completed an AP style Short Answer question over a political cartoon (the "Ograbme" cartoon) as we continued our embargo discussion.  We next took a minute the explore other opposition to Jefferson's policies with a discussion about the Federalists objections to the Louisiana Purchase.  Finally, we explored international relations from a western perspective as we looked at conflict and compromise in the Indiana Territory with primary sources from Tecumseh and William Henry Harrison.

Tomorrow is your first in-class LEQ.  Please see the earlier blog post for information!
