We explored the causes of secession and the Civil War today through a wide range of historical documents, from party platforms and campaign posters to excerpts from the ordinances of secession passed by some of the Southern States. We also read some sources from historian Eric Foner to deepen our understanding of the nature of the conflict over labor and economic systems.  Keep those reading in mind as you continue to work on your scored discussion readings and pre-writes for Monday!

Tomorrow is your last LEQ of the first LEQ window. You should also have your notes ready for Chapter 15! Next week we will open the first DBQ essay window which will extend for three weeks.
