We continued our discussion over Manifest Destiny today then started working on a set of US maps indicating the conflicts and compromises over slavery in the west from 1820 and the Missouri Compromise through the election of 1860.  We also discussed writing a DBQ by examining a sample paragraph analyzing a document.  

Tomorrow is our first Scored Discussion, so be certain you have read the selection we are discussing and completed the written reflection which is a portion of your grade.  The discussion will be worth 45 points, 20 from the written portion, 15 from the in class discussion and 10 from the follow up online discussion.  i will give you the directions for the online follow up tomorrow.  The directions for the written reflection and a student sample are posted under Period 5 at the top near the link to the reading selection.  Also, Thursday will be your in-class DBQ!  Good Luck!!!
