Today was somewhat leisurely as we wrapped up the outcomes of the French and Indian war with a role playing exercise then read about mercantilism.  Part of your homework tonight is to continue exploring the ramifications of mercantilism with the reading on Salutary Neglect in the period materials under DocBlock files.  We also discussed the construction of introductory paragraphs.  I have placed a PDF with some samples under the APUSH Exam Review link above on the Writing Tips page.  I also collected revised thesis statements which I will read and critique tonight. You also received the Unit 1 & 2 timeline assignment which is due next Tuesday.  I will load the requirements and a blank form in case you misplace yours (about 10 were left in my room today, children...) on the Period Materials for Period 2.

We wrapped up today with our first Theme Teams exercise.  The blank form (again, some of you were less than responsible as I have about 10 of those on my table that were left behind, children...) is attached to this post.  We will be returning to those posters again after we have completed a few units to do some further work and analysis.  We will post "prime examples" on the site tomorrow.  Don't forget the next quiz covering chapters 4-6 and all of this week's class work is Monday!  Be reading, taking notes and studying!
