Posts don't seem to be "sticking" when I submit them from home, so... there's that... :( Today we wrapped up analyzing the background to the Revolution and took a few minutes to look at the Declaration of Independence. We will be moving on to examine briefly the events of the Revolution and Revolutionary War tomorrow. Don't forget to brush up your edits on your intro paragraphs so you can turn those in to me tomorrow. You can hand them in on paper or by email just like the thesis statements. I will limit my comments to the paragraph as a whole since I have already discussed the thesis statements specifically. We didn't get to watch the attached film clip in 4th period because we ran short on time, so for your viewing pleasure, here's a peek into how the Declaration was written, which may help you settle some of your debate on the motivations behind its writing: For a bonus, here's a picture of the actual first draft in Jefferson's own writing with Franklin's handwriting making the revisions and edits! Even the Founders had to put up with peer editing!!!
