We started today by finishing up a DocBlock document left over from Friday on the "Know-Nothing" party. We then interpreted and discussed the image "American Progress" by John Gast as an example of the justifications for the policies of Manifest Destiny . We then read the editorial by O'Sullivan which coined the term Manifest Destiny and answered some questions over the document and image in DocBlock.

We next spent time discussing DBQ essays and used the document from the beginning of class as a brief practice exercise. We then wrapped up class with Unit 4 theme teams. I'm attaching the posters from Hutchison's classes below as well as in the normal Google Folder.

Tomorrow is your first Scored Discussion. Make sure you are prepared to share and that you have completed your pre-write response which you should print and bring to class!
