Welcome Back from Spring Break! We dove right in today with a Quiz over Chapter 26 first off, followed by some extended analysis of Roosevelt's approach to ending the Great Depression and to communicating with the American people. We examined two fireside chats then looked at the popular response through a series of letters to the president and the media response through a look at some political cartoons. Tomorrow is your fourth scored discussion. The readings are posted under period 7 and consist of opposing views on the effectiveness of the New Deal from historians Burton Folsom and Roger Biles. I am also attaching a PDF file to this post with some data charts which may help you as you consider with which historian you most agree. Chapter 27 is due Wednesday and your first DBQ is this Friday! Don't forget to review the DBQ writing materials on the Writing Tips page of this site, which also includes a set of practice activities. H
